ABOUT MS. COOPER

Musician, Music Librarian, and Instructor

Megan Cooper is a graduate of Abilene Christian University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music and of the University of North Texas, where she earned a Master of Library Science, concentrated in Music Librarianship. She studied clarinet and bass clarinet while at Abilene Christian University under the instruction of Kristin Ward. Ms. Cooper also studied under the instruction of Dr. Michael Dean. During her time at ACU, Ms. Cooper held principal bass clarinet positions in the ACU Wind Ensemble, ACU Orchestra, the Civic Orchestra of Abilene, and various ACU Clarinet Studio ensembles. Additionally, Ms. Cooper has experience performing on multiple members of the clarinet family including: Bb and A clarinets, Eb Alto clarinet, Bb Bass clarinet, Eb Contralto clarinet, and BBb Contrabass clarinet. Ms. Cooper has experience in instructing single-student lessons, group lessons, and large clarinet ensembles. After relocating to the Houston area, Ms. Cooper has performed with the Houston Civic Symphony and the Houston Sinfonietta.
